Sorry for the long hiatus in blogging, but it is the end of the year for spending at work and I've been busy, busy, busy!! Matt and I could not have planned our vacation any better!! It will be a great change of pace to relax and enjoy each other right after our busiest times.

I cannot believe we leave in two days to head to Disney World!! I'm looking forward to it more than anyone can imagine. The weather is supposed to be sunny and in the 80's the whole week we are there. Could not have asked for anything better! I'll be sure to post pictures when we get back.

Tonight Matt is hosting The Machine Gun Preacher at church. It should be a great event! The Ignite Band is coming out too, so it should be a great night of worship too. And to top it off it will be a perfect fall weather type of night. So happy that fall has finally arrived. I'm ready for bonfires, sweatshirts, and apple cider!!

See ya in a week!

Life Changes!

Life is getting ready to change for Matt and me and we can't be more excited!

Yesterday marked the start of Matt and I "not preventing" getting pregnant. I went to the doctor in the morning and was given prenatal vitamins to begin taking on a regular basis. I'm taking Prenexa and I'm hoping that when I go to get my prescription filled, they will give me a generic so it will be less expensive. I took them today and they aren't really messing me up too much. I feel like I don't have as much of an appetite as I did before, but I'm thinking that might be because of the weather and allergies. We shall see in the next few days.

Matt and I are looking forward to starting to expand our family and will be sure to post as things happen! Please keep us in your prayers that it will happen quickly! I am horrible at waiting and patience is something that God is still having me working on!

In other news: 16 days until our Disney vacation starts!!

I LOVE my husband!

As the title of the post says, I LOVE my husband. He is is such a great man! Every week we have a date night. This week he surprised me and took me to The Boathouse in Forest Park. It was wonderful! The food was really good and the atmosphere was really nice too! We tried to sit outside, but it was full and slightly chilly/rainy so we ate inside and I'm glad we did. He was going to take me on a paddle boat, but they were closed because of the weather so instead we went to Ted Drewes and had the most delicious Pumpkin Pie concrete. There went my diet!!

Things have been getting stressful, so it was definitely nice to be able to get to spend some quality time with each other!

Labor Day Weekend

Does it ever feel like when you have a long weekend, it actually makes the weekend go by so much faster? This weekend was a busy weekend for us, but we had a lot of fun with friends we don't get to hang out too much with, so it was perfect.

Friday night we went to the Greek Fest in Swansea. The weather was perfect and reminded me of a fall evening! I had to wear a jacket! Saturday we took part in the Greek Fest in downtown St. Louis and it was nice as well. Both nights I had my favorite, Greek salad, and at both places it was delicious! Saturday night we walked down to Central West End and had to go get a cupcake from The Cup (aka The Cupcakery). Definitely not on the diet, but SOO worth it!

Saturday we had our CrossFit workout and it wasn't too bad seeing that we had some newbies joining our group. We did 4 reps of 10 wall balls, 15 slams, and 20 jumpballs. Then occasionally we had to do 5 push ups when Greg would yell "PUSH UPS". Thankfully, I'm not as sore as normal. We got home and had enough time to let Gracie out and mom and dad came over. Dad came over to fix an outlet we had outside that wasn't working and to cut down some of the trees we had growing on the side of yard. A few hours later and a huge pile of trees later, we cut down all of the trees on the side of the yard and trimmed up the trees in the back of the yard. It was a beautiful day though, so I'm glad I got to spend it outside!

Sunday was a day of relaxing and the typical house chores. Monday, we woke up and looked at new laminate for a kitchen floor. We went and had a Denny's breakfast (eggwhite omelet). See! Still healthy!!! We ran by Omar's to pick up a workout plan for Matt and then headed to Sams for some grocery shopping. They had some pretty good sales for Labor Day, too! Monday evening we had some friends over for a barbecue and enjoyed hanging outside playing bocce ball and washers. Once the sun went down, and the bugs started biting we headed in and played euchre.

All in all a pretty good weekend! And to top it off I lost six pounds this week! Yay! We will see if I can keep that pace up for the rest of the month! Hope you all enjoyed your labor day!

Blessings!

Last night was an AMAZING night at youth!! Matt baptized one of our students and then a visitor sent Matt a message when we got home saying that she wanted to learn more about Jesus! She has a lot of questions, but in the message she basically said that she needed Jesus. HOW AWESOME!! She also mentioned that she wants to get baptized as well to have an outward symbol of her inward transformation. So within a month, Matt will have baptized 3 of our students!

We also have two students who are putting together 4 days of showing the new movie "To Save A Life" (definitely recommend!!) at their school. They have organized the entire thing from making sure that people are informed about it to getting the license to show the movie. They have such a heart for their school and to see their classmates come to know the Lord. I'm so proud of them!

We really feel like there is a revival breaking out in our youth group. So many students are diving in deeper into their relationship with Christ, it is RIDICULOUS (in a good way)!! God is really moving in the youth ministry and we are blessed that the Lord gave us such a great group of students! We thank God for all of the work that he's doing in the ministry. He gets all of the credit, not us!
